Cottages in the Pines of Rocky Mountain
Machin's Cottages in the Pines are the only cottages available to rent inside of Rocky Mountain National Park. We have been providing cottages since 1946.
History
In 1946 our first cottage hosted our first guests, Bertha and Chet Pierce of Manhattan, Kansas. This little cabin was 8 by 10 feet. It has been enlarged three times over the years, and is now 5 times larger than the original building. It now has a very nice bathroom that is much larger than the whole cabin was in 1946. In 1951 a second small cabin was built that has also been enlarged several times.
Over the years additional cottages were built, and there have been very many additions to the cottages. There are now 17 cottages of all sizes (425 square feet to 1,500 square feet). There has been constant remodeling and upgrading of the cottages and we’ve had many people think the cottages are new, when they were actually built over 50 years ago. We are extremely proud of our facilities.
Amenities
Machin's Cottages in the Pines has 17 cottages. All of them are deluxe with well-maintained and clean facilities. All of the cottages have large picture windows, wood-burning fireplaces, equipped kitchens, porches, and patios, and some have decks.
Each cottage has its own picnic area complete, with both a large Weber charcoal grill and gas grill, picnic table and lawn furniture.
The kitchens are equipped with refrigerators, gas, or electric ranges with ovens, and microwave ovens. Use coffee makers, toasters, and all necessary utensils, dishes, pots, and pans for all cooking purposes.
The bathrooms are neat and clean, with a combination of a tub and shower. All linens are supplied for kitchens and bedrooms.

Reservations
Minimum Stay of Three Nights
Open Late May until October
Let us know if you would like to spend a holiday in the serene pine woods. We offer to stay packages for multiple days. Please note that we require a minimum stay of 3 nights stay. We do not rent a cottage for 1 or 2 nights.
Off-Season
Prior to mid-June and starting mid-August through September, we rent 2 and 3 bedroom cottages for two people at the one-bedroom cottage rate. The extra bedrooms are locked off and not used (only one bedroom being used). This is because we only have four one-bedroom cottages, and mostly couples travel during these times.
No Large Groups
There are many lodging businesses in the Estes Park area that are interested in accommodating large groups of people. This is not, however, the case at Machin’s Cottages in the Pines. We do not believe that large groups are compatible with the type of business we have. We do not accept reservations for a group of more than 12 people or groups wanting more than two cottages.
